Volunteering opportunities with DMU Special Collections

Special Collections, based in the Kimberlin Library, look after a wide range of archives, artefacts and artworks. They will be hosting a week of student volunteering opportunities, starting Monday 18 until Friday 22 November.

The volunteer week will allow students to take part in a range of archival tasks, including listing, repackaging and digitisation. You will have the opportunity to learn more about working in the heritage sector and will handle some beautiful old objects. You do not have to be studying history to participate, just an interest in heritage and a willingness to get stuck in is enough! You can read about our last volunteer week at : Special Collections Blog - Special Collections Blog - LibGuides at De Montfort University

There are 10 sessions throughout the week you can sign up for, with a morning session (10am-1pm) and afternoon session (2pm-5pm) each day. You are not required to join every session, but we do ask you attend a minimum of three sessions to get the most out of the experience. Sessions are held in-person in the reading room, KL 00.21 in Kimberlin Library's Lower Ground Floor.

If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please email David Millns at david.c.millns@dmu.ac.uk and let him know which sessions you are interested in attending.

Places will be first come, first served so please register your interest as soon as possible.
