We’re upgrading the internet and Wi-Fi network in the Kimberlin Library from Sunday 1 to Thursday 5 December. This means some areas will be closed for a few hours during the week.
This is part of our ongoing work to give you:
- A faster, more reliable internet connection across campus
- Better support for digital learning and collaboration at DMU.
When is the work happening?
- Whole building – Sunday 1 December, the library will be closed all day
- First floor – closed Monday 2 December, 9am–6pm
- Second floor – closed Tuesday 3 December, 9am–6pm
- Basement – closed Thursday 5 December, 6–10pm
What you need to know:
- Only one floor of the library will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday as listed above
- You won’t be able to access the affected floor during the work
- All other parts of the library will be working as normal, except Sunday 1 December, when the whole building is closed all day.
Need to use a computer or the internet during this time? Simply go to any other floor of the library, if open, or another building where there are computers and Wi-Fi available (please note, all Library Services study spaces are closed on Sundays).
If you’re using 4G or 5G mobile internet on your devices, they won’t be affected by this work.
Services should be back to normal in the affected area by the time the library reopens on the morning after.
Any questions about the upgrade? The library staff will be able to help, or you can email network.refresh@dmu.ac.uk.
Thanks for your patience while we make these improvements.
