The August 2022 resit period has been moved forward by one week.
This is due to the time between the end of the reassessment and exams period being too short for academic staff to complete marking and external moderation, and for professional services staff to prepare reports, advice and other materials they need.
Postponing the release of results was considered, however this would not provide enough time for academic appeals and repeat year decisions to be processed.
This would also mean students would have virtually no notice of their progression/non-progression decision before the start of the next academic year.
Therefore, the resit period will run during weeks 45 and 46, from Monday 8 and Monday 15 August 2022.
Currently, this is only applicable for the 2021/22 resits.
There will still be four weeks between the release of results and the start of the resit period, providing students enough time to prepare.
