DMU’s internet connection on the Leicester campus will be unavailable from 8am to 7pm on Sunday 12 January.
What services are affected?
All computers and mobile devices connected to the wired or wireless network across the whole campus will go offline while technicians carry out the upgrade.
We have scheduled the work to take place out of standard hours to minimise the impact to teaching and other workspaces. Student halls and their CCTV networks will not be impacted.
If you need an internet connection during the upgrade time, we recommend staying off campus or using a 4G/5G mobile data connection*.
Apps that use your DMU login will also be temporarily affected at certain points on Sunday, whether or not you are on campus at the time. These include LearningZone, MyDMU, MyGateway, DMU email and Office apps on Microsoft 365.
Due to the works, the Kimberlin Library will be closed from 7pm on Saturday 11 January and will reopen at 8.30am on Monday 13 January.
After the upgrade is complete, you’ll be able to reconnect your wired or wireless devices to the campus network in the usual way.
This is part of our ongoing modernisation to give you:
