Just before the Christmas holidays, our Library and Student Services team checked in with final-year students to see how they were doing. The team managed to speak to over 1,700 students.
These conversations were more than just a quick chat - they were a chance to connect, listen, and point students towards the right support when needed.
Most shared overwhelmingly positive experiences about studying at DMU, so we thank you for your feedback! It was great to hear how things were going for you and that for the majority of you the overall experience student experience has been really positive.
When asked whether students felt they were being supported in their studies, the majority of students noted that their learning is going well and that they had no concerns.
However, we know that student life isn’t always easy. A number of students mentioned the challenge of juggling studies with other commitments outside the university. Some students asked for some additional support and your honesty helped our colleagues to make direct referrals or guide those in need to the right support.
Overall, the team found most students had enjoyed a positive time at DMU. However, we know that life at university can feel like a lot sometimes. If you’re struggling, remember that you’re not alone. Plenty of students face similar challenges, and asking for help is always okay. We are here to support you every step of the way. There are several ways to access support at DMU:
