It’s back. Leicester’s biggest university sporting competition returns as the city’s two universities lock horns again and battle to be crowned 2024 Varsity champions.
From Friday 15 to Wednesday 20 March, more than 40 sports teams from De Montfort University and the University of Leicester will compete across 20 sports. The university with the most wins by the end of 20 March is named the overall series winner.
While DMU will be battling hard to break the University of Leicester’s undefeated streak, Varsity 2024 will also aim to have the spectators more directly involved with the series.
Following on from last year’s series, both DMU and the University of Leicester will be highlighting and celebrating the impact that sports communities have on players and how they can positively impact student wellbeing. We want to celebrate all achievements on and off the pitch.
Varsity 2024 kicks off with a launch event on Friday 15 March in the Campus Centre from 12 midday. The series with the men’s first-team hockey over at the University of Leicester’s St Margaret’s Pastures Sports Centre.
