The United Nations Academic Impact Hub and the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre (SLRC) are offering two students the opportunity to represent DMU at the UN Civil Society Conference in Nairobi, Kenya on 10-11 May this year.
Since 1947, the United Nations Civil Society Conference has given civil society organisations an opportunity to put a global perspective on specific issues, bringing together senior UN officials, prominent international organisations, youth changemakers, academia, public opinion makers and the international media.
Successful applicants will be expected to act as ambassadors for DMU in the field of Sustainable Development Goal 16 and the Stephen Lawrence Research Centre, with the support of DMU staff.
To be in with a chance of securing one of the places, potential applicants must attend a briefing at 11am on Friday 8 March – at the SLRC in the Hugh Aston Building – to learn more about the opportunity and the application process.
The United Nations Civil Society Conference international forum is expected to host some 1,500 participants from around the world and will provide preliminary discussions and data ahead of the Summit of the Future in September 2024 at the UN Headquarters in New York.
