Want to get a better understanding of the key themes in decolonial practice and how we can empower one another to improve our teaching and research?
Staff and students can take part either in person or online in a series of decolonising lectures to demonstrate how we can reimagine our higher education sector.
Birmingham City University and De Montfort University will be hosting its third annual lecture series on Decolonising Academic Practice at the city centre campus in Birmingham.
This event will provide students, staff and their local communities with the tools and language to critically identify the ways our universities are built using the same colonial hierarchies.
This year's event will be held Wednesday 19 June (in person) and Thursday 20 June (online). There will be a keynote delivered by Dr. Leon Moosavi and workshops delivered by various speakers.
Wednesday 19 June - in person at the Curzon Building, Birmingham City University City Centre Campus, 6 Cardigan Street, Birmingham, B4 7BD
Thursday 20 June - online via MS Teams
Attendees from DMU will need the availability within their timetable to attend, and should request permission from their manager, if this is necessary.
