Hedgehog Friendly Campus: Join our next hedgehog survey events

We’re running the Hedgehog Friendly Campus scheme again this year and we’re looking for volunteers to join our working group and take part in our activities! We achieved Gold status last year and we are hoping to retain it.

The number of hedgehogs has declined by nearly 99% since 1950 so we are raising awareness about the dangers posed to hedgehogs but also increasing the biodiversity of campus.

We have hedgehog surveys happening in the weeks commencing Monday 14 and Monday 28 October, meeting outside the John Whitehead Building by Soar Point at 9am Monday to Friday.

If you’re interested in taking part on any of these days, please fill out our form or email sustainability@dmu.ac.uk, we would love to have you on board.

We also have various other events happening this year, such as litter-picks and fundraising events. To start off, we have a Hedgehog Friendly Campus litter-pick scheduled for Wednesday 13 November from 2–3pm, starting outside the Campus Centre Building.

Keep a look out for details about other events in the coming weeks.
