Welcoming your New Virtual Learning Environment – LearningZone

 LearningZone-main

From the start of the new academic session 2023/24 the university is moving to a new and improved virtual learning environment – LearningZone.

LearningZone will be replacing Blackboard and you will experience a more streamlined, easy-to-use system where it is easier to engage with key information and access to learning materials for your course modules. LearningZone brings a modern course layout that is both mobile friendly and accessible.

Along with this update, we are introducing new tools and features such as My Progress, ‘Work to Do’, Calendar, a module-based Activity Feed and more, as well as access to key DMU student support services and information.

  • Your Marks: Easy access to submitted assignments marks and feedback
  • Stay Updated: The activity feed on your module homepage keeps you informed about module post messages, allowing you to leave comments. Also further collaborate and subscribe to discussion threads
  • Work To Do and Calendar: Stay organised and view important and upcoming deadlines and dates from across all course calendars, making it easier to plan ahead. View assignment deadlines and important upcoming course events and be alerted on key notifications
  • Keep track: The progress indicator allows you to track what you have already viewed in your course modules – content which you can revisit at any time 24/7
  • Make it personal: Customise your Profile settings and add your preferred pronouns
  • On the go: Access LearningZone from any device or choose to download the mobile app ‘Pulse’
