A share code is generated online for you to share with others, along with your date of birth, so that they can see your immigration status.
If you have an eVisa rather than a physical visa or BRP, then you will be required to provide a share code to the university as evidence of your Right to Study in the UK.
Firstly, you will need to log into the View and Prove my immigration status page.
After you have logged in, you will need to click the green button on the page called 'Get a share code', as shown below.
You will need your personal details including:
- Details of the identity document you used when you applied (your passport, national identity card, or biometric residence card or permit)
- Your date of birth
- Access to the mobile number or email address you used when you applied - you’ll be sent a code to log in
To request a share code to prove your Right to Study, you will need to select the third option which will state ‘something else’ as per the image below;
You will then select 'Preview what the checker will see'.
After this, you will need to scroll to the bottom and click 'Create a share code'.

You must also provide your date of birth so that we can successfully view your online status.
