The Leicester City Council Riverside Festival will take place this year on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 June.
During the festival, Western Boulevard, from the junction with Braunstone Gate and the Tarragon Road roundabout, will be closed to vehicles from 7am on Saturday 4 until 8pm on Sunday 5 June.
Access for students to New Wharf Hall, Bede Hall and The Venue Car Park will be maintained. Students will need to stop at the closure points for entry to be allowed by the Council’s stewards.
Access to The Newarke will not be possible via Western Boulevard but the bollard below the Turret Gateway on Castle View will be removed during the festival to allow access to The Newarke, Newarke Close and Newarke Point.
This year the Riverside Festival coincides with The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend.
Returning for the first time since 2019, the festival will feature a fun fair, food stalls, arts and crafts, an acoustic music and a large music stage featuring great live bands and music.
