Whether you’re looking to enhance your understanding of your chosen field or gain expertise in a new area, our high-quality teaching will help equip you with the knowledge and competencies to unlock the next stage of your career.

This is your chance to find out more about us and discover what postgraduate study at DMU is really like. Below is some useful information you need to know before joining us on campus.

Arrival

On the morning of the event please check your inbox, you will receive an email with a link to a form. Simply complete this form on arrival.

Being centrally located, our campus has good transport links whether you're coming by road or rail.

Unfortunately, parking is not available on campus so we advise visitors to park at the nearest public car park. The closest one to the DMU campus is Newarke Street.

When you arrive on campus make your way to the Hugh Aston Building.

Your day

There will be lots of opportunities to chat with our students, lecturers, and specialists about your subject choices, from student life to the career opportunities offered by our award-winning careers and employability service. Below you will find our schedule, as well as the services and activities that will be taking place throughout campus.

Activity schedule

  1. 4:15-5pm, Hugh Aston 0.10

    This talk will cover the support available throughout the DMU student journey; from help with your studies to advice and guidance about your future career.

  2. 5:10-5:30pm, Hugh Aston 0.10

    Find out about the services on offer from DMU for Life, our Alumni Engagement Team, and how you can join DMU’s Alumni Hub to stay connected and supported as you approach the end of your studies and beyond.

  3. Located in the Hugh Aston atrium. There will be academic representatives available throughout the day to talk about your subject choices. Just head over to one of our faculty stands:

    • Arts, Design and Humanities
    • Business and Law
    • Computing, Engineering and Media
    • Health and Life Sciences

    Health and Life Sciences talks: 

    • Social Work subject talk: 3:30-4pm, Hugh Aston 0.08
    • Physician Associate Studies subject talk: 4-4:30pm, Hugh Aston 0.08
    • Psychology subject talk (to cover both Health Psychology and Mental Health and Wellbeing): 4:30pm - 5:15pm, Hugh Aston 0.08

    Art and Design workshop tours are scheduled for 4pm and 5pm, meeting at the Art, Design and Humanities stand in the Hugh Aston atrium.

  1. Tours leave throughout the event from the Hugh Aston Building main entrance. Head over to our current students in blue who will be happy to help.

  2. Located in the Hugh Aston Building. We ensure students and graduates get the support they need for successful professional lives. The Careers Team also supports students looking to start or grow their own business.

    We will also be hosting a talk on student support at postgraduate level. This talk will cover the support available throughout the DMU student journey; from help with your studies to advice and guidance about your future career. 3.30-4.15pm, Hugh Aston Building.

  3. Visit our stand in the Hugh Aston Building to find out more about the facilities and services available as a postgraduate student from the Kimberlin Library.

    We will also be hosting a talk on student support at postgraduate level. This talk will cover the support available throughout the DMU student journey; from help with your studies to advice and guidance about your future career. 3.30-4.15pm, Hugh Aston Building.

  4. Located at the Portland Building. Access via the back entrance on Newarke Close. The prayer room has dedicated spaces for prayers and ablution.
  5. Located on Dunns Lane, the QEII Leisure Centre provides our students, staff and the general public with state-of-the-art facilities including a 25-metre swimming pool, climbing wall, eight badminton court sports hall, fitness suite and dance studio.
  6. Located on Hawthorn Square in the Hugh Aston Building. Find out how the centre aims to drive forward conversations that will shape and influence how we think about race and social justice in contemporary society.
  7. Located in the Hugh Aston Building. Get advice and guidance for all finance matters.
  8. Located in the Hugh Aston Building. Healthy DMU is our whole university approach to student health and wellbeing. This includes providing you with resources that support your development and studies, helping you to succeed and to achieve your potential.
