We have a variety of resources to help you prepare and search for your ideal job. From careers guidance to postgraduate placements in industry, we aim to give you the best possible start to your future career.

Academic staff on DMU courses have excellent links with industry and their knowledge of the types of companies you may wish to work for can be invaluable.

How do we support you?

At DMU we deliver a university experience that fully prepares our students for the competitive job market. From real-world placements to projects set and graded by leading employers, our courses are designed to equip students with the skills and experience sought after by today's employers. 

The support provided continues beyond the classroom. From employment fairs to graduate internships and from enterprise support to a whole range of careers advice, we make sure our students graduate ready to hit the ground running and embark on exciting and rewarding careers.

Our careers advisors are available for any careers guidance issues such as writing CVs, cover letter and interview practice all year round. They will also inform you of any schemes that we are currently running to help you into work.

Drop-in service

Students have free and unlimited access to ASK Here, a weekday drop-in service which allows students to have 15 minute appointments with our advisers between 9am and 5pm (11am to 3pm during vacation).

Careers success toolkit

A series of guides to assist students and graduates with searching, and applying for, graduate positions. The toolkit includes a CV and cover letter writing guide along with interview tips. 

Psychometric testing

Our students can take advantage of mock psychometric tests, aptitude tests often used by employers to distinguish between graduate candidates. 

All of these facilities are easy to access through mydmu, our student portal, once you have a student identification number.
