Leicester's retail centres offer a shopping experience across 100 stores, and Leicester’s Lanes – a maze of quirky and Instagrammable streets – complements this with a wealth of independent options.

Eating out in Leicester can feel like travelling the globe. Narborough Road has been called ‘the most multicultural street in the country’, offering bars, shops and restaurants influenced by tastes around the world, plus there’s an array of coffee houses and lunch spots, comprising independent local vendors and your favourite restaurant chains. There are some great discounts for DMU students:

Curve is a spectacular state-of-the-art theatre based in the heart of Leicester’s vibrant Cultural Quarter.

Phoenix cinema and art centre showcases a mix of mainstream and independent cinema, art and digital culture. DMU students can benefit from £5 film tickets (monthly mystery film tickets are £4), and there’s a 10% discount for students on food and drink from the centre’s café bar.
