Description
: Open to all students showing promise in the field of hosiery knitwear and/or design. Students must be studying some aspect of hosiery knitwear, textiles and/or design at undergraduate, taught postgraduate or research postgraduate level.

The award supports:

:A donation from Mrs C A Bish in 1982 in memory of her late Husband, Dr E J B Bish, former Head of School of Biology in 1969 to fund research scholarships in Life Sciences.

Name: J F Laxton Scholarship/Laxton Bequest

:This was originally a bequest from the late J F Laxton of £13540 in 1966. Mr Laxton was a tailor from Leicester who wished to assist the community, in particular in education and scientific research in areas of science and technology. Annual or periodic awards are made for advanced, further or experimental study in scientific research at home or abroad.
