BBC Young Reporter & De Montfort University Journalism Day
20 November 2024 09:00 - 15:00
Queens Building, De Montfort University, Mill Lane, Leicester, LE2 7DR
De Montfort University and the BBC Young Reporter Team would like to invite the next generation of journalists, content creators, presenters and tech innovators to join us for this special opportunity to develop young people’s knowledge and skills of the news and creative industries.
They’ll get to hear from influential people working in the industry, gain insight into what makes award-winning journalism and content via our BBC Young Reporters masterclass, and get the latest tips and practical advice for what it takes to get their first job in the media.
They’ll learn how to spot fake news, plus get practical skills and create and make their own content via our workshops which include making videos for TikTok, podcasting, storytelling, presenting and interviewing, to name but a few.
Throughout the day students will take part in interactive sessions with both BBC professionals and the De Montfort University academics, including using industry-standard media facilities at the university.
