Pharmaceutical Technologies Group acquires new Freeze-Drying Microscope

Innovate UK funding from our AtlasBio project (ref. 102610) and support from De Montfort University has enabled the purchase of a Lyostat5 freeze-drying microscope from Biopharma Process Systems Ltd in Winchester. The microscope will enable the precise determination of the product collapse temperature (Tc) which the upper limit of temperature that the product can withstand during the primary drying (sublimation) process without displaying visible deformation (e.g. shrinkage or collapse).
