TVIS (Through Vial Impedance Spectroscopy) is an impedance based process analytical tool for the development of freeze-drying cycles.

Typical Applications include process measurements of critical events (freezing, ice formation), eutectic crystallization, and the glass transition, as well are providing a surrogate measurement of product temperature and primary drying rates from which the heat transfer coefficient of the vial and the product dry layer resistance may be determined.
