Erasmus+, study and work in Europe

The Erasmus+ programme was developed by the European Commission and has been running in various forms since 1987. Each year De Montfort University students travel to many of the 34 European countries to study and/or work for up to 12 months.

We are also a popular destination for incoming students from our 60 partners across Europe and participating programme countries.

To learn more about our commitment to the Erasmus+ programme download our Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education 2014-20.

Outgoing students

Erasmus+ is an opportunity that will allow you to experience a new lifestyle and gain skills that future employers value highly. The programme is open for current International students with Tier 4 visa status.

If you are an undergraduate student in your second year you are eligible to study at one of our partner universities in Europe under the Erasmus+ programme. An integrated semester is possible for Journalism, Arts and Festival Management and a small number of other DMU courses in year two.

Erasmus+ funding is also available for students who want to carry out a work experience placement as part of their degree in Europe.
