Join your DMU community for a series of fun online social events

We know that the student experience is an important part of your university journey, so to help you connect with your DMU Community and to say thank you for choosing DMU, we are excited to launch our exclusive DMU Summer Socials – a series of fun, online events created especially for our new students who are joining us this September.

There are many different opportunities that you will come across as a student here at DMU, and our Summer Socials will give you a little taste of some of the fun activities you can take part in whilst you study with us; giving you a head start on the exciting times ahead!

Not only is this a fantastic chance for you to chat with current students and learn more about our clubs and societies, but you can meet other applicants who are starting this autumn and make some new friends along the way– which is what university is all about!

There really is no better opportunity to step outside your comfort zone and try something new. So, choose from the range of sessions below and don’t forget to save the date – July 22 in your calendars for the big finale, you won’t want to miss it!

Summer Social schedule

  1. Wednesday 26 May, 5pm - 6pm: The one with the Arts

    Learn some craft skills with tutorials from our current students or bring along your own craft project during this chilled creative social event.

  2. Wednesday 9 June, 5pm - 6pm: The one with the Dance

    Get moving with a fun and interactive dance class led by students from our Hip Hop Dance Society. Then cool off and learn more about sports and fitness societies with our students from the Women’s Rugby Society.

  3. Wednesday 23 June, 5pm - 6pm: The one with the Games

    Go head to head with other students in this interactive gaming session, led by our very own students. Be sure to come ready as there can only be one winner!

  4. Tuesday 29 June, 5pm - 6pm: The one with the Yoga

    Wind down with a student led Yoga session! Led by our Psychology and Yoga Society, we will discuss navigating university life whilst looking after your mental health and wellbeing.
