Join the #SupportStudyAbroad campaign

Universities UK International (UUKi) launched their #SupportStudyAbroad campaign today (Friday 11 October) to encourage the UK government to commit to continue funding for abroad study opportunities if there is a no-deal Brexit.

UUKi is the international arm of Universities UK. They represent UK universities and act in their collective interests globally, allowing them to develop international strategies and create diverse opportunities through strategic partnerships.

The #SupportStudyAbroad campaign is important because the government have not yet confirmed funding for abroad study opportunities in 2020 and beyond.

So far, they have said that they are ‘open’ to participating in the Erasmus+ programme for future years and have guaranteed to replace grants awarded by the EU for studying abroad in 2019.

17,000 students will miss out on opportunities to study abroad next year if funding is not confirmed in the case of a no-deal Brexit.

You can join the campaign by:

  • Writing to your local MP, the Universities UK website has templates you can use.
  • Tweet the Chancellor of the Exchequer @sajidjavid, Universities UK have made social media graphics for you to download here.
