Final-year undergraduates – please complete the 2019 National Student Survey

At DMU we pride ourselves on providing our final-year students with the knowledge, skills and confidence to take the next steps towards realising your career and life goals. We’re also committed to providing you with the best possible student experience, creating the ideal environment to help you succeed.

That's why your feedback via the annual National Student Survey (NSS) is important to us. Feedback reflects the positive aspects of studying at DMU as well as indicating any opportunities there may be to improve the quality of teaching and the overall student experience.

We strongly encourage all final-year undergraduate students to complete the survey:  we value and welcome your feedback.

The 2019 survey period runs from Monday 21 January until the end of April.

Go to the NSS website at www.thestudentsurvey.com to take the survey.

By completing the NSS, you are taking advantage of an important opportunity to reflect on your time at DMU and to provide feedback to academic and support staff across the faculties. It’s a chance to express what you liked about your course, including teaching and the student experience in general. It’s also an opportunity for you to comment if you think there is room for improvement.

About the NSS

The NSS is commissioned by the Office for Students (OfS) and is conducted by an independent body, Ipsos-Mori, which ensures that all answers remain anonymous.

The survey consists of questions grouped into a number of categories covering:

  • Teaching
  • Learning
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Academic support
  • Organisation and management
  • Learning resources
  • Learning community
  • Student voice
  • Overall satisfaction

There is also space for free-text comments.

Results are published on university websites, on national websites and on the UCAS course search tool.

Your opinion matters!

The NSS feedback you provide enables us to make improvements across campus that enhance the overall student experience for current students. In addition, you can also tell us how things are going by using the Student Voice Committees, SRCs, Course Reps and talking to staff.

Your opinion matters because it helps us to continue to deliver on the aspects of university life you benefitted from and improve on areas where things went less well, enabling us to continue to develop the student experience.
