Introducing Campus Collectives, your ticket to connecting, learning, and making a real impact on issues that matter to you. Whether you're passionate about sustainability, social justice, or anything in between, Campus Collectives is your platform to dive in and drive change alongside like-minded peers, both students and staff.

What are Campus Collectives?

They're your go-to hubs for exploring common interests, sharing ideas, and taking action. It's all about coming together to make a difference, one collective at a time.

And speaking of collectives, our very first one is all about sustainability – because who doesn't want a greener, more eco-friendly campus? Led by our United Nations SDG Hub, this collective is your chance to get involved, learn, and contribute to a more sustainable future for all of us.

And here's the best part: you're in control. Whether you're eager to dive in headfirst or prefer to ease into things, Campus Collectives lets you participate on your own terms. Join discussions, attend events, or share your ideas – it's all up to you.

United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Hub

DMU is the only higher education institution in Britain to be a global hub for one of the Sustainable Development Goals – SDG 16 to promote peace, justice and strong institutions. The SDGs were introduced by the United Nations in 2010 with the aim of improving the lives of millions of people by 2030.

Project Atefa

A refugee advocacy project led by student volunteers to tell the real stories of refugees and asylum seekers. The project is led by Jemima Duodu, a DMU student who helped found the project and graduated to become a DMU SDG Hub employee.

Climate Champions: Net Zero Campaign

The net zero project has been rebranded to the Climate Champions: Net Zero Campaign. It covers the net zero football initiative; Politics for the Planet; and 29 Ideas for COP29.

Politics for the Planet

A project to give staff and students their say on what the policies to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals should be as major global elections loom. This project is mediated by the UNAI and overseen by Politics and International Relations student Marta Dos Santos Sapina Afonso.

29 Ideas for Cop 29

An open forum to gathering new ideas from staff and students for decision makers at the next global climate change talks. The project is led by Nafi Ba, a DMU graduate employed by the DMU SDG Hub.
