Summer schools in the UK and China

DMU CI offers three summer schools: 

Two-week summer school at our partner university, USTB in Beijing

All DMU students who have completed at least twenty hours of Mandarin study prior to departure are welcome to apply for the USTB Summer School, with priority given to those studying Mandarin with DMU CI. For further information, see the DMU Global website.

One-week summer school with DMU CI on campus

The DMU CI Summer School delivered on campus is free and open to all DMU students, staff and members of the public. China Test Summer Camps

This summer camp is open to anyone studying for an accredited Chinese language test including HSK, YCT and BCT outside of China. For further information and how to apply, please contact us by email: ci@dmu.ac.uk.

China Studies programme and scholarships

There are a wide range of scholarships open for students from around the world who wish to study in China, including: 

• Scholarship for Doctor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (DTCSOL)    
• Scholarship for Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (MTCSOL)    
• Scholarship for Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (BTCSOL)    
• Scholarships for one academic year, one semester or four-week study in China

Most scholarships are open to students who:

• Have taken an accredited Chinese language test anywhere outside of China and have achieved outstanding grades 
• Are not a citizen of the People’s Republic of China
