USTB-DMU Joint Degree Show

From June 19 to June 25 2024, the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) and De Montfort University (DMU) jointly held the 2024 Degree Show at the Confucius Institute at De Montfort University (DMU CI), which is co-founded by USTB and DMU. The event garnered significant attention and participation from numerous DMU faculty members, students, parents, and the wider local communities. This exhibition showcased some outstanding works and achievements of USTB's faculty members and students, further promoting the exchange and cooperation between the two universities.

The exhibition featured a variety of displays, including works in industrial design, visual communication design, animation design, artificial intelligence technology, sculpture and fine arts, highlighting the innovation and dedication of USTB’s teachers and students in their artistic creations. Inside the exhibition hall, visitors paused to appreciate the works, engaging in enthusiastic discussions. Each piece represented the intelligence and hard work of the faculty and students, fully demonstrating their talent and unique perspectives in artistic creation.

During the exhibition, CI Chinese Director GU Wei and other teachers from the Confucius Institute introduced the creative concepts and technical highlights of each works to the guests. Director GU also provided a detailed explanation of the application of AI technology in design and the stories behind these works, which sparked great interest and extensive discussions among the visitors. Many guests expressed that they were deeply impressed by the exhibited works and were even amazed by the beauty of the integration of creativity and technology.

With the success of the 2024 USTB-DMU Joint Degree Show, the Confucius Institute at DMU will continue to play the role of a bridge and a link to help the two universities to explore and implement new modes of cooperation, providing the faculty and the students of the two universities with more high-quality educational resources and a broad development platform. This Joint Degree Show also demonstrated the outstanding achievements of the Confucius Institute in cultivating international talents and further deepened its cooperative relationship with De Montfort University.
