Food at DMU

The Food Village is the university’s main dining facility, located at the heart of campus in the Vijay Patel Building, at the crossroads of Mill Lane and The Gateway. We offer a wide range of menus covering breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Our daily selections include various food concepts at our hot food counters, along with everyday favourites such as sandwiches, snack pots, crisps, and confectionery. Most items are available to order through the Uni Food Hub app or in-store kiosks, making it quicker and easier for us to serve high-quality food in less time. We’re here to provide you with the best dining experience at an affordable price.

Our main counter, Dish of the Day, features two sections: one offers a Savoury Range with budget-friendly options, while the other hosts weekly pop-ups that bring innovative and healthy food to DMU! We recommend that students and staff order through our in-store kiosks or the Uni Food Hub app, where they can access a wide range of innovative and delicious daily offerings.

The Coffee House is conveniently located just off Hawthorne Square in the Hugh Aston Building, only a few steps from the Newarke Museum. It’s the perfect spot to grab a freshly brewed Costa Coffee, along with a variety of all-day hot and cold snacks. Whether you need a caffeine boost from the full Costa hot drinks menu or want to try seasonal specials, we've got you covered.

Start your day with freshly baked pastries or warm, filled breakfast croissants, available first thing in the morning. From 11am, you can enjoy jacket potatoes, soup, Proper Cornish pies and pasties, baked in-house. Delicious breakfast deals are available until 11.30am. If you’re craving something sweet, we offer a tempting selection of whole cakes, tray bakes, cookies, and loaf cakes throughout the day.

The Kimberlin Library café offers a range of hot and cold snacks and drinks, the perfect energy boost whilst you study, research or revise! Our coffee beans are sourced from Well Roasted, a local coffee roaster committed to traceable supply chains and positive environmental practices, all whilst delivering exceptional flavour.
