De Montfort University was contracted to deliver a European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) project to aid local small and medium sized enterprises connect with Higher Education.
The Benefiting Business programme was targeted at Leicester based small and medium sized enterprises who operate on a business-to-business basis. The aim of the programme was to support companies that wished to:
- Recruit DMU students & graduates
- Make use of DMU facilities
- Encourage knowledge transfer opportunities between business and academics
- Increase usage of DMU services
The Benefiting Business programme was supported by an ERDF Priority Axis 2 grant. Priority Axis 2 aims to promote economic growth by increasing the level of enterprise, creating new jobs and moving towards a more knowledge-based economy.
Although the Benefiting Business programme has now closed, the University has a number of ways in which it can help organisations with recruitment, facilities and knowledge transfer.
