COP28 schedule | DMU Dubai campus

Dubai will take centre stage as COP28 – the most important climate change conference yet to take place – is staged in the United Arab Emirates.

De Montfort University has a pavilion in the COP28 Blue Zone but events are also taking place at the DMU Leicester campus and at the DMU Dubai campus.

Events planned for DMU Dubai are listed below:

  2. Speaker Jan Cai will deliver the DMU Dubai guest lecture to students and staff on the subject of Human-Centered Design.

    Time: To be confirmed

  3. This trip to Masdar City, Abu Dhabi, will allow students to learn more about designing low carbon buildings in the United Arab Emirates. It is open to all students from the Arts, Design & Humanities faculty.

    Time: All day

  4. The team of academics and PhD researchers into climate change from De Montfort University Leicester will give their Blue Zone presentations to students and staff on the DMU Dubai campus.

    Time: 11am

  5. Three groups of 20 student each day will visit the Green Zone at the COP 28 climate change conference at Expo City, Dubai, in trips led by the faculties.

    Time: All day

  6. This event related to issues surrounding climate change will include students from outside the campus and professionals from the community.

    Time: 2-5pm

  7. The event will include professionals and industry experts and discuss issues related to climate change and action.

    Time: 3-5pm and 5-7pm

  8. This second event in the series related to issues surrounding climate change will include students from outside the campus and professionals from the community.

    Time: 2-5pm

  9. The event will focus on a discussion of relevant climate change issues and include professionals and industry experts and will be both in-person and virtual.

    Time: 6-8pm

  10. The work created by the art installation will be exhibited as the centrepiece of a networking event that will include some professionals and students.

    Time: 4-5pm
