De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) has been named the 25th best university in the country.
The institution leapt up 20 places in the annual Uni Compare Top 100 University Rankings for 2025.
The rankings are calculated using reviews and ratings given by students and cover aspects like quality of accommodation, social life, courses and career-building.
Each of the categories is scored out of 5, with DMU scoring particularly well for the way it helps students prepare for employment (4.13 out of 5).
A total of 92% of students surveyed said they would recommend studying at DMU to others, with the university being given an overall, average rating of 4 out of 5.
Uni Compare says its table is worked out "using our student reviews data, pairing category ratings with written reviews to give a thorough picture of what students' views are.”
Earlier this year, DMU became one of only 20 UK institutions to see an improvement in this year’s QS World University Rankings, climbing 80 places.
DMU was placed at 711 to 720, up from 801 to 850 in 2024, putting the university in its highest position since its inclusion in the world rankings.
Out of 11 different categories, there was a noted upsurge in measures for sustainability and international research collaborations.
