A De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) graduate has been announced as the new host of The Masked Singer’s spin-off show.
Will Njobvu, 26, who graduated from Leicester Media School, will present The Masked Singer: Unmasked, which will air exclusively on ITV Hub. The hit TV show is one of the most popular on TV – last year’s final drew an audience of 8.4m.
Will, who studied Media and Communication at DMU, said: “I am extremely excited to be part of such a big entertainment show and I can’t wait to bring viewers all the behind the scenes gossip from The Masked Singer, exclusive interviews with contestants and unfiltered chat with the panellists.”
The show features celebrities singing covers of songs while wearing head-to-toe costumes and face masks that conceal their identities.
Unmasked will air directly after the main show, which returns to ITV in 2021. Capturing all of the magic and madness of the nation’s favourite guessing game in one glorious spin-off show, Unmasked will contain an exclusive first interview with that evening’s unmasked celebrity.
He will also be catching up with and getting all the gossip from the show’s panellists Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and new recruit Mo Gilligan, as well as taking us behind the scenes to find out what really goes on at the most secretive show on TV.
Will hosts the Saturday morning show on Capital XTRA radio and regularly appears on Channel 5’s Jeremy Vine show as a co-host. He used to present the FYI Daily entertainment news show on ITV2.
Wil’s career began with a behind the scenes role at Channel 5 following his graduation from DMU. The Masked Singer: Unmasked is produced by Bandicoot Scotland for ITV.
