BANNER for RII event

The way people travel in towns and cities is changing – partly because of the pandemic, but also because of the desire to find cleaner and healthier ways of getting around.

Next month, the Institute of Responsible Business and Social Justice at De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) launches its new lecture series looking at the phenomenon of ‘micromobility’ – e-scooters, e-bikes, electric skateboards – and how they could shape future transport policies.

The seminar - which is open to all - features three speakers, John Nelson and Corinne Mulley from the University of Sydney’s Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies, and Andy Salkeld, the active travel team leader from Leicester City Council.

Using evidence from New South Wales in Australia and here in Leicester, you’ll hear fresh ideas to balance changing technology and mobility patterns, some of the barriers that need to be navigated and the appetite of policymakers in making change.
