For more than 30 years Dr Kotecha, CEO of Morningside Pharmaceuticals has utilised his passion for drug discovery, international trade and providing quality, affordable healthcare to forge a highly successful career.
From humble beginnings, Dr Nik Kotecha has developed and grown Morningside Pharmaceuticals Ltd to be a successful and rapidly growing business. The company has expanded significantly from a garage start-up in the 1990s through to being an SME and now a thriving company, which is one of the Top 100 in Leicestershire.
Dr Kotecha draws upon his expertise in Research & Development and worldwide ethnic and cultural diversities. This has been gained through visiting most continents and experience of exporting healthcare products to over 120 countries worldwide.
Nationally, Dr Kotecha uses his knowledge of pharmaceuticals, exporting and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to advise Government departments, including the Department for International Trade (DIT), the Department for International Development (DFID), the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), and the Office for Life Sciences (OLS).
He is also involved in many working groups in the Midlands, including acting as Chairman of the East Midlands Chamber’s Brexit Advisory Group and previously for the International Trade Steering Group. In June 2017 Dr Kotecha was invited to join the Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership (LLEP) as one of their board members. He is also Chairman of the LLEP’s Programme Board. In 2020 Dr Kotecha became Vice Chair of Charnwood Borough Council’s Town Deal Board
