Research interests/expertise

My research interests are in image processing. Several areas including: extracting subtle facial expressions and relating those them to underlying emotion; Content based image retrieval (CBIR); tracking systems I also work in sound analysis particularly: content based audio analysis (CBAR); and speeech to text analysis.

Areas of teaching

Software design and development, object orientation, Java, VB. Author of ten books on software systems and editor of the Essential Series published by Springer-Verlag.
