Personal profile

Dr Fuad Khoshnaw is a senior academic and researcher at the School of Engineering and Sustainable Development at De Montfort University in the United Kingdom, where he has served as a senior lecturer since joining in 2018. He holds a PhD in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering from Loughborough University, UK, which he was awarded in 2010. Dr Khoshnaw is also recognized as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. In 2005, he became a Chevening Scholar, joining the Chevening Technology Enterprise (CTES) program and completing the Innovation and Technology course at London Business School, UK. To date, Dr Khoshnaw has published over 70 papers in fields including welding, corrosion, biomaterials, additive manufacturing, fracture mechanics, and failure analysis, and he has edited six books on welding and corrosion. Dr Khoshnaw is also an active member of several international editorial boards and serves as a reviewer for academic books and journal submissions.

In May 2021, as a Co-I, won £25,000 from the Global Challenge Research Funding (GCRF) for funding our research proposal entitled: Realising Education’s Promise for Children Refugees from Syria: Assessment of Education Provision and Learning Environments in Iraq.

In May 2018, as PI, won a research grant funded by Belgian Research Funding Body "FNRS" at Mons University in Belgium. The research started in 2018/2019 for 2 months. The title of the research project is "Effect of Metallurgical Aspects during Welding Duplex Stainless Steel Alloys"
