Dr Rachel Evans

Rachel Evans is a Senior Lecturer in Criminology in the School of Health and Life Sciences at De Montfort University, having held previous research positions at the University of Leeds and University of Swansea. She has particular interests in Critical Criminology and Zemiology, with a focus on environmental concerns, animal welfare and sustainable practices. She has attracted external funding as a co-PI for evaluations of Community Sentence Treatment Requirements (CSTRs) from pilot stage to areas of best practice and was also a member of the CSTR pilot programme steering group at one of the test bed sites. She has also completed studies on the use of recreational substance use by young people and explores the impact of environmental factors on different demographic groups. She is a mixed methods researcher and is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
