Personal profile

Brian is an experienced researcher with a focus on working with children and young people. Brian’s current research interests include masculinities, young people and emotions, violence and prevention, social and youth justice policy. He has conducted research with a range of organisations including Youth Justice Services in Coventry and London and worked in local government and youth work teams on violence reduction programmes with young people. His recent research has looked at young people’s experiences of violence, using music as a tool to support desistance, and evaluating the effectiveness of non-statutory youth justice services.
