As Head of Student Success and Professional Development at DMU's Business and Law School, Leena is dedicated to advancing business education. She holds Certified Management & Business Educator (CMBE) status, demonstrating her commitment to professional development.

Currently pursuing a doctorate at Leicester Castle Business School, Leena explores the experiences of under-represented groups in Higher Education. She is a certified coach with a Distinction in Postgraduate Coaching and is qualified by the British Psychological Society to use various psychometric tools. Her expertise includes executive career coaching and strengths-based interviewing.

Leena has extensive experience across private, public, and non-profit sectors, focusing on bridging academia and the workplace. She has designed top-tier professional development programs, always centering on the student experience.

She chairs the Faculty Employability & Graduate Outcomes Group, contributes to university committees, and collaborates with leading employers to integrate industry insights into the curriculum. Leena supports students' transitions into global careers, fostering strong industry connections and community ties.

Research interests/expertise

Leena interests include: Student Engagment & Experience, the intersection of class, gender and ethicity in early career transitions, The hidden job market, Diversity and Inclusion within HE and the Graduate Labour Market. 

As a Doctoral Candidate  Leena is passionate about inclusion in higher education and this is a key area of focus in her research.

Areas of teaching

Professional Development Programmes (Topics Include: Developing Teams. Networking for Career Success, Competency and Strengths Based Interviewing, Assessment Centre Deisgn, Presentation Skills and other topics related to career planning, education and work readiness.
