Mr. James Crick started at De Montfort University (DMU) as a part-time researcher and tutor in September, 2015. After spending several years in New Zealand (where various academic and industry experience was attained), James returned to the United Kingdom to undertake his doctoral education at Loughborough University. His thesis is examining the role of market-oriented organisational cultures and focuses on marketing becoming dominant within the firm. His main responsibilities at DMU include teaching on the International Marketing course and a research associate. The research concerns the role of university and non-university business incubators’ services and how they develop performance for their tenant organisations. James brings a range of teaching and research experience to his given roles with key research interests being international marketing and strategic marketing.

James’ research interests pertain to the broader area of strategic marketing with a particular focus on competitiveness. Within this area, specific interests include forms of international marketing and market orientation. Such experience has involved using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
