I am a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at DeMontfort University and an interdisciplinary researcher. Teaching Digital Marketing, Advertising, Branding and Consumer Behaviour. My research focuses on intersectionality, Critical Race Theory, Queer Theory, Decolonisation, Consumer Behaviour, Digital and Social Media and Online Communities.
I ran a very successful workshop, funded by the Academy of Marketing, that focused on decolonisation within Higher Education. I was one of 4 people to be chosen for the funding. I am also taking part within the Transformative Consumer Research Conference 2023, I will be involved with a group to create a paper within the subject of "Expanding Our Understanding of Inclusion and (its pesky shadow) Exclusion: How Inclusion and Exclusion Impact and are Impacted By Consumers, Marketplaces, and Markets".
I promote safer spacers where academics and people are able to voice their opinions and experiences and be heard, where discussions can take place within a respectful environment. There is a mutual understanding that this is an ongoing process.
I am currently a PhD student at De Montfort University, working title: “Undoing Whiteness within LGBT spaces: An examination of British South Asians and Queer identities within online spaces."
I am the chair of LGBTQ+ Network at DeMontfort University and I am also part of the EDI committee university wide. I describe myself as an anti-colonial activist.
