Mrs Amanda Akhtar

LLB (Hons) (Leicester) 1996, LLM with distinction, Human Rights and Civil Liberties Law (Leicester) 1997. Amanda teaches Civil Liberties and Constitutional & Administrative Law on the undergraduate programmes, and she is also responsible for the 'Civil Liberties in the Workplace' and 'Aspects of Discrimination in Business' modules on the LLM pathways. She has worked at De Montfort University since 1998 and has co-authored 'Walker and Walker's English Legal System' (with Richard Ward) since its 9^th edition. Her research interests centre around religion and law, with a particular focus on religious discrimination
