Late applications

If you’re still thinking of applying to DMU for September 2017 entry and you’ve missed the 15 January deadline, don’t worry there is still time to apply via UCAS.

We are accepting and considering applications beyond the initial deadline, so if you have missed the first step in the UCAS application cycle or have only just decided to go to university, we have put together a handy list of options that are available to you:

  • If you've not yet made a UCAS application for 2017 entry - you can apply online through UCAS where you can make up to five applications. Once this has been submitted, you can view the progress of your application through UCAS Track.

  • If you have already made an application via UCAS this year - and have submitted fewer than five choices on your application and haven’t already accepted a place then you are still entitled to add more choices up to a total of five.
For more information on this, please contact UCAS directly on 0371 468 0 468, making sure you have your UCAS ID number to hand.

  • If you have accepted an offer but can no longer attend that university - once you have accepted an offer, you have made a commitment to that course and university. However, circumstances can change, which can result in you no longer being able to attend that university. Don't worry there are still options available to you using UCAS Extra and UCAS Clearing.

  • If you have submitted five choices and have been unsuccessful or changed your mind and declined your offer from your previous choices - UCAS Extra will be available on 25 February 2017 and closes on 4 July 2017. Please note: you are only able to apply to one course at a time through UCAS Extra, meaning you will not have an insurance choice. Also, you cannot use Extra if you are currently holding an offer of a place. It is worth noting that once you are in Extra, you are not able to go back to any original offers.

UCAS Clearing

If you haven’t managed to secure an offer, didn’t achieve your expected grade or have declined all offers received, then you become eligible to enter Clearing.

Clearing starts in July and August – once you have your exam results. We will have a list of our available course vacancies on our website and on UCAS during this time.
