About the course

This highly innovative course allows you to graduate with a master’s level degree by studying a minimum of four years.

A career focused and practical course, the Business and Management (MBus) allows you to study a range of subjects from different disciplines within the Business School.

You can choose to follow a general pathway or you can choose specialist modules in accounting and finance, human resource management or marketing. This flexibility allows you to tailor your degree to reflect both you interests and your future career ambitions.

Entry and admission criteria

  • Typical offers at 320 UCAS Points. You need to study at least two subjects at A Level or equivalent (eg BTEC)
  • Five GCSEs grades A–C including English Language and Maths
  • Pass in Access to HE Diploma including 30 credits at Merit or above Level 3
  • International Baccalaureate: 30+ Points.

We welcome applications from mature students with non-standard qualifications and recognise all other equivalent and international qualifications.

International students:

If English is not your first language, we require an English language level of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.

Teaching and assessment

Lectures, tutorials and seminars, group work and self-directed study are used for teaching and learning. Assessment will include coursework (eg presentations, essays and reports) and normally an exam.

You will normally attend around 15 hours of timetabled taught sessions (lectures, tutorials etc) each week, and are expected to undertake at least 15 further hours of independent study to complete project work, research etc as required

Facilities

Students are taught in the state-of-the-art £35 million Hugh Aston Building, complete with a selection of purpose built lecture theatres with capacities ranging from 50 to 250.

The building also features breakout spaces for group work, quiet study zones for individual work, high spec computer labs and an integrated bookshop.

An onsite coffee shop is also situated in the building for students to meet with friends and classmates.
