Specialists in Water Software Systems and Mechanical Engineering
Centre for Engineering Science and Advanced Systems (CESAS) is a hub for interdisciplinary research activities based on application of fundamental scientific principles for solving challenging engineering problems. It hosts activities in mechanical, aeronautical and environmental engineering employing methodologies based on advanced mathematical modelling, scientific computing and experimental studies. The Centre addresses themes related to the three classical elements: air, water and fire.
The major streams of research and development are:
- Nonlinear flight dynamics, aerodynamics modelling and flight simulation
- Modelling, optimisation and control of urban water systems
- Experimental and computational research in combustion
- Environmentally efficient technologies for developing countries
- Software development for engineering applications
The Centre is working in partnership with industry, research agencies and research institutes to improve efficiency, safety and reduce environmental impact of advanced engineering systems.
Computing and Control for the Water Industry 2015

The 13th Computer Control for Water Industry (CCWI2015) conference is being organised by De Montfort University in collaboration with the University of Exeter and the University of Sheffield takes place in Leicester, UK from the 2th - 4th September 2015.
The CCWI conference series brings together researchers and water practitioners with an interest in current challenges and solutions for the water industry.
