Undergraduate courses

The follow degree courses are 3 years in duration and tuition fees are £12,250 per year for students joining DMU in September 2017.

Performing Arts BA (Hons)

Our Performing Arts course focuses on contemporary and innovative performance. You will learn live performance skills including dance and contemporary acting alongside film-making, sound composition and the use of media manipulation software.

Dance BA (Hons)

Our dance course focuses on contemporary dance to develop informed creative practitioners with the skills to work effectively in a range of dance-related careers. Recent graduates are employed as choreographers, performers and producers.

Dance can also be studied alongside Arts and Festivals Management with our Joint Honours degree.

Drama Studies BA (Hons)

Our drama courses combines practical and theoretical explorations of drama. You can choose from a wide variety of modules and will have the opportunity to engage critically with the research and practices of drama- whether devised or scripted, informed by current scholarly thinking or historical theatrical traditions.

Drama can also be studied alongside Arts and Festivals Management, Creative Writing, English or Media with our Joint Honours degree.

Arts and Festivals Management BA (Hons)

This course prepares you for employment in the cultural industries, festival management and the arts. You will have the opportunity to enhance your practical skills through projects and two placements in your chosen arts sector. You will develop a range of skills such as teamwork, marketing and management theory, fundraising, business planning, licensing, health and safety, programming and cultural policy.

Arts and Festivals Management can also be studied alongside Dance or Drama with our Joint Honours degree.

Postgraduate courses

The follow Master's are 1 year in duration and the tuition fees are £12,600 for students joining DMU in September 2017.

Performance Practices MA

This course covers contemporary performance practices and will allow you to enhance your creative and performance skills, theoretical knowledge and research skills. Topics studied include the body in performance; audiences; spaces; narrative; memory; digital technologies and collaboration.

Performance Practices MA

This course functions as a bridging year between your studies and more professional contexts by developing your skills and knowledge to support them in achieving your goals.

Cultural Events Management MSc

This course meets the needs of the expanding cultural events and festivals industry. You will develop a solid understanding of the theory and practice of developing and managing cultural and arts-based events. You could work alongside leading organisations such as the British Arts Festivals Association, Festival Republic (the company behind Latitude, Reading and Leeds), The Spark Children’s Art Festival, and many more.

Our Performing Arts courses require an IELTS 6.5 with 5.5 in each component.
