The Leicester Media School offers a range of technical, creative and communications courses at foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate level. Our media subjects were ranked in the top 20 in the UK for graduate prospects in The Times 2016.

Many of our courses benefit from industry collaborations and partnerships with Channel 4, Creative Media Skills and Phoenix Film and Digital Media Centre.

Our multi-million pound Creative Technology Studios includes:

  • Audio recording studios
  • Staging and editing equipment
  • Television studies
  • Mac-equipped computer suites
  • Newsroom suites
  • Broadcast-standard radio production facilities
  • Motion-capture equipment
  • Blue and green screen studios

Film students also benefit from lectures in the local Phoenix Square Cinema, where you will be taught in a real cinema environment.

Music students will also have access to the state-of-the-art Performing Arts Centre for Excellence, with dedicated sound performance rooms and our Courtyard Studio - a professional grade, fully sound-isolated recording, mixing and composing environment.

You can also get involved in Demon Media - our student run magazine, radio and TV station.

Our media graduates work for companies such as Sony Music, Spotify, the BBC, Warner Music, Hewlett Packard, Cosmopolitan and the Telegraph.
