Keep Universities for the Many – more talks announced

Our ‘Keep Universities for the Many’ campaign continues with members of the Executive Board discussing DMU’s position in a rapidly changing higher education landscape through a series of university-wide debates over the coming weeks.

On Friday 16 March, staff and students gathered to hear Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Andy Collop talk about the Government’s upcoming Post-18 Education Review and the Subject-Level TEF.

The following week (on Friday 23 March) our Chief Operating Officer Ben Browne and Kaushika Patel, Deputy Dean of Health and Life Sciences spoke about the progress of Freedom to Achieve – DMU’s project aimed at addressing the academic attainment gap among BAME students. 

On Monday 26 March, Professor Nigel Wright, Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, discussed 'Research in a changing HE environment.'  ​​

The series continues on Thursday 12 April, when Dr Simon Oldroyd, PVC Dean of HLS, will speak about Nursing and Allied Health Professions. 

Over the following weeks, further talks will be taking place, details of which are below. More information will be made available soon.
