Final year undergraduate students at DMU have begun picking up £100 cheques towards the costs of securing employment.

The #DMUworks Employability Award is being given to final-year undergraduate students over the next week. #DMUworks is our ambitious and game-changing plan to rethink work placements and work experience. The new initiative will be launched soon, so keep a look out for more info.
The award is part of a range of measures the university is taking in line with our commitment to improving student experience and enhance student employability.
Final year Adult Nursing student Surekha Cnji picked up her cheque today and said: "This award will be really helpful for me. I am going to put the money towards buying some clothes for interviews."
Onyedikachi Inwogu, a final year Mental Health Nursing student said: "The money will really help me when looking for employment, particularly when I need to travel for interviews."
Students queueing to receive their Employability Award
Other initiatives already in place to help DMU students to maximise their career opportunities include Frontrunners internships, a Unitemps job agency on campus, an employability mentoring scheme and an online portal for career planning and job hunting. We also offer the chance to apply for an additional DMU Employability Travel Bursary.
