Our experts

Lixian Jin

Professor Jin, the UK project leader, is a Professor of Linguistics and Intercultural Learning at De Montfort University and the Director of the Centre for Intercultural Research in Communication and Learning (CIRCL). She is a visiting professor at a number of leading universities in China, including the People’s University of China and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. For the past 15 years, Lixian and her colleagues have offered intercultural communication training sessions to Royal Colleges of Nursing, Midwifery, GP, Surgeons; local NHS deaneries; local educational authorizes; universities; international companies, e.g. Dylex, CSR, Pepsi Cola, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, Base Formula, etc.

Professor Jin teaches a postgraduate course in Intercultural Business Communication at De Montfort University, which brings together business, language and international expertise, designed to give students a competitive edge in the global job market. Using this expertise she has been able to develop this bespoke service to benefit businesses.


Training courses determined from the consultancy process will be drawn from the current MSc in Intercultural Business Communication, and delivered as blocks of learning which will be tailored to the specific needs of your organisation through the use of case studies and interactive action learning sets.

The course content will be structured to enable intercultural business communication:
