The Department of Media Technology brings together audio and video disciplines and creates an academic balance with performance, technical production and recording.
Courses available within the Department of Media Technology can open up a wide variety of careers in broadcasting, radio production, online media, music production, independent video production, web design and much more.
With investment in both equipment and space, the department is able to offer an industry standard environment, while enabling students to benefit from partnerships with the BBC and Confetti Institute of Creative Technologies.
Departmental research groups focus on innovative ways of exploiting new media technologies including 3D, haptic devices, tracking, and fused media, as well as multimodal systems, interactive auditory interfaces, internet based e-commerce systems, and interactive computer technologies.

Reverb is a method used throughout the audio industry, and is the effect a space has on a sound, for instance a cave "sounds larger" than your front room. Reverb has many applications, and before the digital era, reverb was recreated using large spaces, or large metal plates.
